After the explosion in Helsingborg: “Some of the apartments are uninhabitable”

The damage to the stairwell was extensive. Parts of the roof and walls fell down, apartment doors were pushed in and windows were smashed. In one of the apartments, a wall was pushed in so that a wardrobe overturned and the front door and parts of the ceiling were damaged. The residents told of the shock and fear after they woke up to the blast.

– In addition, the apartment was filled with smoke so we could hardly breathe. We had to open the windows and rush out into the street while the smoke was blown out. It was terrible, says one of the family.

Get other accommodation

It is unclear what will happen to those who live in the house. Residual value leader Jonas Hellsten was on site during Saturday. His job is to lead the work of cleaning up all the debris and taking care of the victims. His staff must also see if there are values that can be saved.

– Some of the apartments are uninhabitable, he says.

– It may happen that some families have to stay temporarily in hotels or with friends and relatives. I also arrange call support for those who need it.
