Salmonella is always a concern among egg producers and affects the egg market, says Ulla Born, who runs Båsbo eggs, with 3,000 hens, in Julita.
– It is especially fragile when large facilities are affected. When it is a smaller farm, it is not noticed in the same way. It’s sad for everyone affected because it’s a financial interruption.
The egg producer that has its production in Småland and that recently had a salmonella outbreak has now gotten rid of the infection and has been given the green light by the Swedish Food Agency to continue operating.
In the clip, egg producer Ulla Born shows the almost completely empty shelves in the room where the eggs are packed.
