Trafikverket’s director general Roberto Maiorana was thus unable to see the accident site at Vassijaure where they are struggling to restore the track as quickly as possible.
LKAB has previously told us that it loses around SEK 100 million every day that the track cannot be used.
However, both top managers felt that they had had a good and fruitful conversation. Also present at the meeting was Catrin Ingvarsson, CEO of the contracting company BDX, whose staff is working on the restoration work.
Will have even closer cooperation
The parties underline that the collaboration is good today, but everything can be done even better.
– We have set up a series of meetings where we will have an even closer collaboration. We see how important this is, says Roberto Maiorana.
No concrete points on how the cooperation should be strengthened in general were not presented.
During Thursday, the mountain weather is expected to improve and a delegation including Jan Moström and Helena Eriksson, the Swedish Transport Administration’s regional director for the Northern region, plans to make another attempt to travel to the accident site.
However, Roberto Maiorana himself had to travel back by plane on Wednesday afternoon.
In the clip, Jan Moström talks about what he got out of the meeting with the Swedish Transport Administration’s top management.
