A merger of the two women’s clinics in Nyköping and Eskilstuna was planned for the first of May, but with the table setting, the savings proposal in the wake of the region’s economic crisis will have to wait for a decision.
The merger plans have been met with criticism from several quarters. Nyköping municipal councilor Urban Granström (S) is one of them, in addition to the staff at the clinic in Nyköping, who expressed their concern.

– We work very hard every day to continue growing and when there are signs of concern about care and perhaps above all the women’s clinic and BB, it will affect Nyköping, says Granström.
Despite regional councilor Lars Lundqvist’s (KD) clear answer that BB in Nyköping is not threatened, Granström believes that the last word has hardly been said.
