At the moment, 14 people – most under the age of 20 – are in custody on suspicion of complicity in crime which, among other things, involves attempted murder, preparation for murder, preparation for public dangerous devastation, serious weapons crime and serious drug crime.
According to intelligence information from the police to SVT, the planned serious violent crime is part of the fight between two criminal networks for control of the drug market in northern Sweden in general and in the Sundsvall area in particular.
Strict secrecy still applies to details of the investigation, but it is clear that of the 14 people in custody, nine are suspected of either attempted murder and aiding and abetting attempted murder, or preparation for murder.
Resource-intensive
The preliminary investigation is to some extent intertwined with the investigation of the shooting in Bosvedjan in Sundsvall in December when one person was injured. The cases have been very time-, resource- and personnel-intensive.
– A total of 15 investigators have worked on these two cases in recent months, and that does not include, for example, forensic experts, says Josefine Perming Tengqvist, head of the police department for serious crimes in Västernorrland.
The preliminary investigation after the major crackdown is very extensive and currently amounts to around 10,000 pages.
– The investigation is in its final stages. Some supplementary interrogations remain, after which all the material must be compiled and at the beginning of June the preliminary investigation will go out for final service to the suspects and their defenders, says Henrik Wallin.
See and hear him tell, among other things, about the suspects’ willingness to tell in the interrogation.
