Two masked men – armed with weapon-like objects – forced the convicted man from the Prison and Correctional Service transport with them on Thursday afternoon. According to information to SVT, the freed man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for attempted murder.
A large police operation has been underway since the incident. A police helicopter was seen over Norrköping during the afternoon and police equipped with reinforcement weapons were on site along the E4.

At 10.15 today, the police will hold a press conference over the phone with the latest from the operation.
– We have no one detained at the moment and the preliminary investigation remains with the police. The crime classification from yesterday remains, says John Andåker, head of the investigation section at the police.
