Russia retaliated against the decision to expel 30 Russian diplomats on the grounds that Germany was involved in intelligence gathering activities. In a statement made by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was reported that in response to the decision of the Berlin administration, it was decided to expel German diplomats in the same way. “The German authorities once again decided to expel the Russian diplomats en masse. We strongly condemn these actions of Berlin, which continue to defiantly disrupt the entire structure of Russian-German relations, including its diplomatic dimension,” the statement said.
THE DECISION HAS BEEN CONNECTED TO THE GERMAN AMBASSADOR
“In response to Germany’s hostile actions, Russia took the same decision to expel German diplomats from Russia and to significantly restrict the maximum number of German diplomatic missions in our country,” the statement said.
It was reported that the decision was communicated to the German Ambassador to Moscow, G. von Geyr, who was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 5, 2023. (UAV)
