“… At present, however, Region Kalmar County chooses to pause the use of Z-water in light of your review and information from chemists/experts that point to deficiencies in efficiency. The region wants to wait for any facts and do more thorough analyzes ourselves before we make a decision about how we proceed with the use of the product.”

Can cancel the agreement with one month’s notice
According to the email, Region Kalmar County has an agreement with the manufacturer of Z-water which means that it can be terminated with one month’s notice. As SVT has previously reported, it has been introduced on a trial basis at the hospitals in Oskarshamn and Västervik. Rickard Swärd further writes that the use of Z-water has been paused, even though they are satisfied:
“Our own quality measurements showed that we got cleaner surfaces, improved the working environment for our cleaners and contributed to the Region’s climate goal of reduced chemical use.”
Borgholm will investigate
Borgholm municipality, one of the customers, also tells SVT that they are rethinking their use of Z-water.
– We will get to the bottom of this, and review whether these are reasonable prices or if we are paying too much, says Ilko Corkovic (S), chairman of the municipal board.
