Those who thrive in the sun do best to take care. Rain and debris are waiting around the corner and no further lightening is to be expected.

SMHI also warns of large amounts of snow in its parts in the north.

The weekend has been characterized by pleasant temperatures in several places, and Saturday’s weather has likely caused many to enjoy the sun.

– A large part of the southern half of the country is sunny, dry and warm with temperatures around 20 degrees. It’s really warm for April, says Linnea Rehn Wittskog, meteorologist at SMHI.

Cover is waiting

But soon it’s time to get ready for a cover. It is already snowing in places in Norrbotten and Västerbotten – and low pressure is heading south. On Sunday, another low pressure will come in from the southwest and move in over the West Coast on Sunday morning.

– These two will be baked together. What happens then is that Götaland and Svealand get a rainy weather that will pass to the east. In the north of Dalarna and further up, there will be abundant snowfall instead.

SMHI has issued yellow warnings for parts of southern Norrland, the south-eastern part of Västerbotten, northern Dalarna and parts of Jämtland as a result of the snow that may cause traffic disruptions. The warnings apply Sunday morning and until the evening.

No heat

In connection with the low pressure, the temperatures also gradually drop in the south. At the beginning of the week it looks like it will be 10-15 degrees in the southern parts of the country and then 5-10. Further up in the north, the temperature ranges between 0 and 5 degrees.

Those who wish for the sun and warmth again look like they will have to wait. The forecast suggests that the unsettled weather is here to stay.

– Right now, no real heat is visible in the forecast. But it’s not really that strange, it’s still only April, says Linnea Rehn Wittskog.
