But after Thursday’s stabbing in the same park — when a man attacked four toddlers and two adults, who were seriously injured, the outdoor screenings are now postponed and begin indoors, writes The Variety.
“In consultation with the authorities and according to Mayor François Astorg, the festival will open on Sunday, June 11. However, as a gesture of support for the families and victims, the festival management has decided to postpone the outdoor screenings until Monday, June 12,” according to a statement from the festival.
The festival, which runs until June 17, usually attracts around 14,000 filmmakers, distributors and animation fans from around the world.
