While Paris FC will change dimension in the coming months with Red Bull and the Arnault family, another Parisian club could move into a new era.

A few weeks ago, Paris FC announced the arrival of very prestigious shareholders with the Red Bull group, headed for the football section by Jurgen Klopp, and especially the Arnault family, owner in particular of the LVMH empire. If the short-term objective is to climb into the elite, Paris FC hopes in the longer term to compete with PSG in the European elite.

But while observers from the world of football are delighted to see a second Parisian club with a significant investment fund, they could be even happier with a third club from the capital which could enter a whole new dimension.

This club is Red Star. Following the bankruptcy of the 777 Partners group, announced a few days ago, the Ile-de-France club would have entered into exclusive negotiations with PagsGroup LLC, a shareholder already very active in the world of sport. Numerous exchanges would exist between the two parties while the Moelis & Company bank would play the role of agent.

PagsGroup LLC, owned by businessman Stephen Pagliuca, would increase its empire in the world of sport since the group already owns the majority of shares in the Italian club Atalanta Bergamo, winner of the Europa League last season, and is above all at the head of the American franchise of the Boston Celtics, reigning NBA champion.

If nothing has been confirmed at the moment, there are fears about the future of the club if negotiations fail. “Following the difficulties encountered by 777, the Red Star is accompanied and supported by A-Cap”reassured Patrice Haddad, president of Red Star. “Red Star is secure for the 2024-2025 season thanks to compliance with the commitments made to the DNCG and optimistic about the ongoing discussions regarding the future.”

For fans, know that nothing has yet been decided, but L’Equipe indicates that the exchanges are “numerous and constant”. The parties hope to be able to finalize a deal by the end of October.
