As the Hollywood Reporter exclusively reports, the director is next directing the werewolf horror film Werewolf. Eggers is writing the script together with the Icelandic author Sjón, who was most recently involved in Eggers’ The Northman.

The story of Werwulf is said to take place in 13th century England. No further information about the content is known yet. But one exciting detail has already emerged: the script is there full of Old English dialogues with many notes and translations. It remains to be seen whether the final film will be entirely in awkward language. In his first hit The Witch, Eggers also used period-correct language.
