At Japan’s request, the UN Security Council has been called to an extraordinary meeting on Monday due to North Korea’s latest robot test.
A long-range robot launched by North Korea on Friday landed in the sea in Japan’s exclusive economic zone. UN Secretary-General António Guterres strongly condemned North Korea’s new deployment and once again called on Pyongyang to immediately desist from further provocative actions, according to UN spokesman Farhan Haq.
Guterres also calls on North Korea to take immediate steps to resume talks that could lead to sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
