Founded by the Koch brothers, two billionaires with conservative and libertarian ideas, the organization Americans For Prosperity had paid millions of dollars to Nikky Haley’s campaign to prevent a victory for Donald Trump.
But barring any major surprises, the former president is guaranteed to obtain the Republican nomination. The lobbying group has therefore decided to focus on financing candidates for Congress, the partial renewal of which will take place at the same time as the presidential election. While dropping Donald Trump’s only rival, the organization still says it is worried about the consequences of a possible victory for the former president.
Nikky Haley pretends not to be disturbed by the loss of this important donor. She states in the New York Times having raised a million dollars in just 24 hours.
