Despite the fact that the Social Democrats in Botkyrka demanded Ebba Östlin’s resignation as municipal councilor, she continues in her post.
In a post on Facebook today, she speaks out for the first time in two weeks after she was poached as group leader.
There have been very conflicting images of what happened.
Her critics say she was ousted for her poor leadership. Others have described the even confidence vote as a coup in which newly recruited party members may have made the decision.
The accusation is that Östlin was voted out as revenge for the closure of ABF’s recreational facilities. An operation where, according to the municipality’s investigation, there was violence, drugs and convicted personnel.
According to that version, gang criminals should have helped bring down Östlin.
The pressure is now heavy on the Social Democrats nationally. According to party secretary Tobias Baudin, the investigation set up by the party into the events must be presented as soon as possible.
The news has searched for Ebba Östlin without an answer.
