During Wednesday’s visit, the police and emergency services spoke with the students in grades four to nine at Mjällby school.
– We have had five incidents in November and December, where it was, among other things, fires in wastebaskets and piles of leaves, as well as fireworks that were thrown into spaces here, says Mats Svensson, training coordinator at the rescue service in western Blekinge.
Parents are important in the work
The school visit was a joint initiative between the police, emergency services, the municipality and the school.
– The next step will be to talk to the parents, who also have a big responsibility in this, says Fredrik Svennergren, municipal police in Sölvesborg.
