Deadpool & Wolverine has long been a hit at the box office as a Marvel crossover event. The blockbuster will almost certainly break the billion mark worldwide soon. There are no official details about the content yet, but Levy has now spoken about his approach, which a breath of fresh air for fans of the sci-fi franchise promises.
Deadpool & Wolverine maker wants to avoid too much connection to Star Wars franchise
According to The Playlist, the director spoke about his vague Star Wars vision as a guest on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. Levy doesn’t want to be too closely linked to previous films, series or storylines from the Star Wars saga and would rather create an independent story:
There are only limited opportunities for Star Wars films to revisit the same part of the timeline. I don’t want to make a Star Wars movie that is redundant to others. I also have no interest in making one that has to serve another film.
Levy’s statements make it sound as if the director would rather open a fresh Star Wars chapter and explore unknown regions in the vast science fiction universe.
