After days of negotiations, the results came out! ‘Peace’ step from Azerbaijan and Armenia: The ‘finish line’ statement from the USA drew attention

The ongoing negotiations in the USA for the “Bilateral Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations”, which will reshape the course of relations between the two countries, yielded results. Partial agreement was reached on some articles in the draft agreement.

AGREEMENT HAS BEEN MADE ON SOME ITEMS

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, it was stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Ceyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan and accompanying delegation members mutually agreed on some articles of the draft “Bilateral Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations” as a result of the meetings held in the USA.

It was stated that both ministers expressed their gratitude to the US side for hosting the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that the parties agreed to continue the negotiations.

“THE ONE WAY IS THROUGH DIALOGUE”

In a statement, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “The only way to a lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is through dialogue. “The United States is delighted to continue to offer its support, participation and goodwill to host this debate and any future discussion of lasting peace.”

“CONFIDENTIAL PROGRESS MADE FOR PERMANENT PEACE”

Noting that Azerbaijan and Armenia discussed some very difficult issues in the last few days, Blinken said, “They made concrete progress in a lasting peace agreement. I hope they see that there is an agreement that can be reached, and I believe they have seen it. I think that reaching this agreement will have a very positive impact not only in the historical but also in the interests of the peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and even beyond the two countries,” he said.

Emphasizing that an agreement can be reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Blinken said, “The last mile of any marathon is always the hardest. “But the United States is here to help both of our friends cross the finish line, and as I said, I think we’re very close to that.”

“We feel that we have made very tangible progress. We are about to reach a final agreement and we are determined to continue helping our friends achieve it. So thank you both, your delegations, and also Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev for sending you here,” Blinken said.
