Calle Halfvarsson was not gracious in his criticism of the Tour de Ski when he was interviewed yesterday.
The Swedish skater saw basically the entire tour’s existence:
– You make it more and more boring. Then you have no future in it, said Halfvarsson, among other things.
First and second in the mass start Linn Svahn and Frida Karlsson were interviewed together after today’s race. The winner Svahn did not agree with Halfvarsson about the criticism – rather the opposite:
– I think the tour is a good concept. One of the highlights of the season, says Linn Svahn.
Halfvarsson, who entered the Tour de Ski with a recently resolved covid illness, has had a tough time. He was seventh on today’s stage over 15 kilometers classic but is 23rd overall – 5.37 from leading Norwegian Harald Östberg Amundsen.
