Kivimäki started as the league’s CEO in June 2022. He says on the league’s website that he has been thinking about his own role more and more towards the end of the season and that he has discussed the matter several times with the league’s chairman Heikki Hiltunen with.

Kivimäki talks in the background together with his successor as he prepares to change the CEO. Pulkkinen, who built his career in the technology sector, will officially start his position next Monday, May 8.

Heikki Hiltunen is disappointed with Kivimäki’s departure, but says he understands this decision. Hiltunen would like to thank Kivimäki both personally and on behalf of the board for his tireless work.
