A spell causes unpleasant matches in Plunderstorm from World of Warcraft. Blizzard is giving in here and bringing massive nerfs.
There is currently a bit of “gap-filling content” in the retail version of World of Warcraft. Until Patch 11.1 Lorenhalt is released, players can play around in Plunderstorm mode and earn lots of new cosmetic rewards.
New this time are some abilities that weren’t available in the first variant of the mode. There is a speed aura as well as a teleport spell, but also a ranged spell with a hyper range of 80 meters. This is exactly what caused problems – and has now been massively nerfed.
What was the big problem? In particular, the Celestia Barrage ability was quite a problem. Because the magic was basically the “jack of all trades” of abilities and could do everything:
This means that the sky bombardment was not only good for easily eliminating two fighting opponents at a distance, but was also perfect as an emergency button. There was simply too much this magic could accomplish.
What was changed? With a hotfix, Blizzard has made the following changes to Plunderstorm mode:
The active aura of Aura of the Zealot now persists for a few moments after leaving the area of consecration.
Cortyn says: Most of the new abilities are interesting and support certain playstyles in Plunderstorm, but you could never pass up Sky Bombardment. Therefore, the nerfs here were only appropriate so that builds that are more focused on close combat can also exist. The nerfs should ensure that the event remains attractive for the remaining four weeks and that there is more fairness within the games. It should now happen much less often that you are suddenly killed “out of the blue”.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of discussions about the endgame in the normal WoW version. There are some problems, especially in Mythisch+, which are particularly evident among the best players in the world. Because 88% of all professional tanks play a certain class.
