In recent days, gray weather has been dominant in France, with a significant deficit of sunshine since the start of the month. What to expect for this three-day weekend?
The last few days have been marked by significant waves of fog and gray weather. Pays de la Loire and Centre-Val de Loire were the most affected. Between October 27 and November 5, there were only 30 minutes of sunshine in Orléans and 1 hour 20 minutes in Nantes, compared to usually between 25 and 30 hours. Even in Paris, since the beginning of November, the capital has only seen 8 hours and 27 minutes of sunshine. As a new long weekend looms with Monday November 11 as a public holiday, will the weather improve to allow us to enjoy an autumn getaway?
Nothing is less certain. The weekend will begin with a disrupted day on Saturday, according to The Weather Channel. Rain will affect the southwest of the country and Corsica. It could even locally turn into a storm. If you are heading towards these regions, an umbrella will not be too much. In the rest of the country, the weather will be overcast. To find the sun, you will have to choose the mountains. Good news all the same: temperatures will be mild for the season with between 5 and 15 degrees in the morning and between 9 and 19 degrees in the afternoon.
On Sunday, the weather will calm down, but gray weather will still dominate. A few isolated drizzles could be noticeable and fogs will be frequent from the southwest to the northeast while the southeast will see the sun arrive. Temperatures will remain approximately the same as the day before. It is finally for the Armistice Day that the weather should be a little better. To the north, fog banks and mist will be persistent, with a small risk of rain as well as a light breeze which could bring a feeling of freshness. The sun will, on the contrary, persist in the south, near the Mediterranean. Some clearings could, during the day, move a little higher in France.
After such a long weekend, next week should be marked by a return of cold weather. According to Météo France trends, “temperatures will drop throughout the week, and should fall below normal from Wednesday”. However, little rain is expected.
