The character of Joe Goldberg, performed by Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl), quickly turns out to be a psychopath, whose lies and obsessive and toxic relationships have passionate spectators since the start of broadcasting, in 2018. In the casting, the series revealed several actors, such as Victoria Pedretti or Tati Gabrielle or Elizabeth Lai. Jenna Ortega, iconic Wednesday Adams in the Netflix series, also appeared during season 2.

If the subscribers responded to discover the new episodes of You In the past seven years, criticism has been more mixed in season. The first salvo of episodes was praised for its subversion and its originality, in particular thanks to its strong themes (toxic romance, satire of social networks, …). But from season 2, the press begins to tire of the repetitive patterns of the series, despite attempts to renew in the seasons 3 and 4. In France, the series continues however to please the spectators, since the program wins the note of 3/5 on Allociné.

Joe Goldberg’s obsessions will therefore be coming to an end. The fifth and last season of You is put online on Thursday April 24, 2025 on Netflix. The streaming platform also offers all the previous episodes, if you want to benefit from a catch -up session. On Rotten Tomatoes, the series remains well noted by the press (92%), even if it has a little less convinced the public (75%).
