In January, the County Administrative Board called for the public’s photos of royal visits to the region over the past 50 years. After receiving a lot of pictures, seven people were selected who would get to meet the king at the exhibition in Gustav Adolfs torg.
– The military had an exercise at our home, then the king came and visited us, says Birigitta Johansson from Hyssna, Mark.
Gunilla Sjögren’s story – A painting from the area
In 1973, the king visited Nääs in Lerum. During the same time, Gunilla Sjögren had an exhibition of embroidered pictures when Lerum municipality called. The municipality wanted to place an order to give to the king as a gift from the area.
– When you get an order like that, you don’t think it’s true, is someone kidding me? But it was true!, says Gunilla Sjögren.
