After 4 years the streamer continues a forgotten sci fi film

Some superhero fans need superhuman patience. At least that applies to the community of the sci-fi hit Code 8, which appeared on Netflix four years ago. The streamer has now announced a sequel called Code 8 Part II, in which superheroes must once again fight against brutal oppression.

Sci-Fi sequel on Netflix: DC star has to protect superhero teenagers

In the world of Code 8 and its sequel, some people’s recently discovered superpowers are under strict state control. Connor (Robbie Amell), who wanted to finance his mother’s treatment with crooked means in part 1, has now taken on a quiet caretaker job. However, that quickly ends when young Pav (Sirena Gulamgaus) runs into his arms. The supernaturally gifted teenager is pursued by corrupt police officers.

Just like his brother Robbie Amell (The Flash series) Stephen Amell (Arrow) will also return in the sequel. Jeff Chan will again direct. Even if Netflix figures are not available, Code 8 is already a success story. The sci-fi film was co-financed by more than two million in donations (via Indiegogo) and received many above-average reviews when it started streaming (via Rotten Tomatoes).

When is Code 8 Part II coming to Netflix?

However, it is not yet clear when exactly the surprisingly announced sequel will appear. As the film’s first poster shows (via What’s on Netflix), the sci-fi film is said to be during 2024 to be published.
