The navigation app has partnered with ASO, the cycling race’s organizing company, to help motorists navigate around the event.

Roads blocked with traffic, traffic jams, motorhomes maneuvering with difficulty to park on the side of the road and above all, a huge crowd of fans who came to attend one of the biggest sporting events of the year… In order to avoid motorists to find yourself in this summer Pandemonium, the Waze application will integrate not only the Tour de France route, but also all the data related to the race. Objective: to offer alternatives to motorists who do not wish to applaud the passing of the 2CV Cochonou.

To do this, Waze has entered into a three-year partnership with ASO, the organizer of the Tour de France. “Throughout the Tour de France and the Tour de France Women with Zwift, Waze mapping will show the 4,000 km of closed roads, start and finish lines, temporary parking lots and live traffic speeds. , so that drivers can orient themselves and be better informed about the traffic of the event“, specifies the press release.
The company organizing the event already displays practical information related to traffic around the Tour de France. On its site, it indicates, for example, parking spaces or even blocked roads, but until now, it lacked a real-time navigation tool that serves both the interests of cycling enthusiasts and simple passing motorists.
