It is now official, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso are no longer members of the Cédéao. The three countries of the Alliance of the Sahel States had announced their withdrawal on January 28 of last year, with immediate effect. The statutes of the Cédéao provided for a period of one year. As of this Wednesday, January 29, the two parties therefore consider that this departure is effective. But many essential questions remain to be resolved.
