Aerospace, Frisoli (Manta): “From the Puglia-Campania axis the Silicon Valley of the South”

(Finance) – “The Apulian aerospace district is an important reality in the sector which has made enormous progress in recent years. Today it collects 90 companies and employs around seven thousand workers with a turnover of 5% of the national sector. We need a medium-long term national strategy that allows the District to reverse the trend of exodus of young people abandoning the South, allowing companies to invest and develop skills by hiring young graduates and specialists. I imagine a southern axis of skills between the Apulian district and the Campania aerospace district: a local ‘Silicon Valley’, or rather, a real ‘Meridional Valley’ which, by leveraging skills, will restart the economy from the South”. ‘ the challenge launched by Michele Frisoli, CEO of Manta groupduring WMD meet, the online forums, coordinated by Erika Capasso, which introduce the themes of the ‘Naples fair’, chaired by Alfonso D’Aria, which will be held from 23 to 25 May 2024 in Città della Scienza in Naples.
“Aeronautics can and must act as a driving force for development and stable employment through high skills – he added Frisoli – which allow families to plan their future with peace of mind. By investing in research and development we want to be a new center of attraction for young people. With our group we are focusing on digital transformation using three streams: Manufacturing 4.0; the setting up of smart factories with production processes that travel through innovation by digitizing cycles and actual digital transformation by processing operational big data to make them accessible to operators. Last step is the manufacturing process utilization that is, the use of innovative solutions for process controllability. We need to change the way we think about the industry. We have built a reality where people begin to think differently with a focus on environmental and financial sustainability within which there is the concept of digital transformation. Never forgetting that at the center of the process there are always the people who must be trained and competent.”
