(Finance) – The flag of the Mediterranean Gamesdelivered in Oran, Algeria, to the mayor of Taranto, Rinaldo Melucciwhich will see his city host the 20th edition of the event from 13 to 22 June 2026, has arrived atFiumicino airport with a special flight of Ita Airways. The last members of the blue team, protagonist in Oran, also returned to Rome with the same plane, with 159 podiums won in the various disciplines (48 golds, 50 silvers and 61 bronzes). This result has allowed Italy to win for the 14th time in the history of the “three-circle” Games the medal table for nations ahead of Turkey (108) and France (81).
To welcome alongside with a long applause the arrival of the flag carried by the mayor of Taranto, Rinaldo Melucci, and of the Azzurri, the president of the Italian National Olympic Committee, John Malagò, the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefanoand the Vice President External Relations and Sustainability of Aeroporti di Roma, Veronica Pamio.
