Marika Domanski Lyfors is fighting a malignant brain tumor.
On Tuesday, she was there when Sweden excelled in the European Championship qualifiers.

The terrible news came in April earlier this year that the national team manager Marika Domanski Lyfors suffered from a brain tumor. Since then, the 64-year-old has undergone surgery and then the doctors made the assessment that the tumor was malignant, which means that it cannot be surgically removed.

Since then, Domanski Lyfors has been supported throughout football Sweden and the players in the women’s national team have been extremely touched. The national team manager is currently undergoing treatment for her brain tumor, but that still doesn’t stop her from getting to the stands.

On Tuesday evening, she was on site at Gamla Ullevi when Sweden won against Luxembourg with a whopping 8-0 in the play off game for the EC.
– It means a lot. It makes me very happy to see her face in the arena. I know how much she wants us to win and to do it for her feels great. It means a lot to all of us, says Fridolina Rolfö according to Sportbladet.

Asllani’s love
Before the match, Marika Domanski Lyfors had met all the players at the hotel in Gothenburg. The meeting went straight into the hearts of many players.
– It has been incredibly nice to have her around us. She means an incredible amount to us. Having her around us, that she came to the hotel and shows her support. It is so important for us to have her close, says Kosovar Asllani according to the evening newspaper.
– We know that she loves to win and we want to do it for her too. You can feel her presence and it is among the finest. She doesn’t have to say much, as long as she’s around us, it’s good enough.
Football means an awful lot to Marika Domanski Lyfors and, above all, the Swedish women’s national team is close to her heart. That’s why the national team players feel such pride in offering her eight goals in the big victory.
– When she arrived at the hotel, we all felt enormous joy. It’s amazing that she has the stamina and strength and shows how much football means to her. We are a family and she is part of it, without her we would not be here, says Johanna Rytting Kaneryd in a statement.
