The European Commission adopted, on Wednesday October 25, a text to more strictly regulate the technical measures put in place by digital giants “which play on the vulnerability and desire of people, encouraging them to spend more time on their platform” . MEPs believe that the directives already in force, such as the recent regulation on digital services and the Artificial Intelligence Act, are not sufficient to tackle the addictive and compulsive mechanisms abused by social networks.
