Do you get tired of the fonts available in Windows? Innovate and add new fonts to vary styles! A simple operation, especially since there are many free policies on the internet.
Helvetica, Times New Roman, Arial, Mail, Trebuchet, Verdana … The least we can say is that we quickly go around in circles with the fonts delivered as standard with Windows. If you want a little originality to write documents or invitation boxes, for example, the choice is quite limited with the 80 fonts installed by default. Fortunately, you are not confined to what the Microsoft system offers you. You can add as many fonts as you wish. You will just have to make sure to use font files in TTF (True Type Font) or OTF (Open Type Fact) formats which prove 100 % compatible with Windows. To find new fonts, you are spoiled for choice. The Microsoft Store already offers a nice palette, but you can also find it for free on the web with sites like 1001Freefonts,, Font,, 1001Fonts,, AWWWARDS,, Freefont and even Google.
Also be careful to verify that the accentuated characters specific to our language are well among the characters available in the font. Once the file has been downloaded, all you have to do is integrate it into Windows so that you can use it with any text editor. For this, two methods coexist.
Have you found the ideal character font on the web? The Windows file explorer offers you two ways to install it in the system.
► Make a double-click on the TTF or OTF font file that you have downloaded.

► As soon as a window is displayed with the different characters that make up the police in several sizes. If it suits you, click the button Install top left of the window.

► You can also click using the right button on the TTF or OTF file. In the displayed menu, choose Show more options.

► Among the options offered, choose Install Or Install for all users.

The operation is also achievable from the Windows settings. Advantage: you can take advantage of it to see what the police you want to install.
► Press the keys Win + I keyboard to access Windows settings. In the window displayed, click on Personalization in the left shutter.

► Scroll the contents of the window down and click on Fonts.

► Import and font management options are displayed. Here you can get a good preview of the fonts already installed in the system. If you have not yet found the police you want, click for example on the link Get more fonts in the Microsoft Store.

► The Microsoft Store opens and presents many fonts to you, most of them being free. If you like one of them, click on it.

► Click on Get Then, once the download is finished, on Open. The police are immediately integrated into Windows.

► If you have downloaded your cast iron on a website, slide the TTF or OTF file from the file explorer in the Windows settings window and, more specifically, in the area Slide on files to install.

► The new font immediately takes place in the system.
