In The Gambia, one of the main victims’ associations of the Yahya Jammeh era says deeply ” shocked by President Adama Barrow’s choices to appoint two former allies of his predecessor as head of parliament last week. Controversial appointments while these two personalities are clearly opposed to any legal proceedings against the perpetrators of crimes.

Installed under a white arbor, and surrounded by several victims of the regime of former President Yahya Jammeh, the director reads the letter sent to President Adama Barrow.

The floor is then given to two victims. Khemeseng Jammeh was in prison in 1997 when he was elected to parliament, then dominated by the same figures resurfacing today.
