Actor Ingvar Hirdwall dead

The actor Ingvar Hirdwall has died, his agent tells TT. “The actor Ingvar Hirdwall fell asleep at home on Maundy Thursday. He was 88 years old. He is mourned by family, friends and colleagues,” writes his agent Birgitta Rönnhedh in an email. Hirdwall was born in Stockholm in 1934 and during the 1960s and 70s was involved in Gothenburg’s state theatre. He has also been active at both Dramaten and Stockholm City Theatre. Hirdwall, who has had a long acting career, is known, among other things, for his participation in the Beck films where he plays Martin Beck’s neighbor. He has also been awarded a Guldbagge for best supporting actor for his performance in the film “Om jag vänder mig om”. Hirdwall lived to be 88 years old.
