“I love Joe Biden. But we need a new candidate,” writes the film artist, a democrat George Clooney in a Wednesday edition of The New York Times in his opinion text.

Clooney asked US President Joe Biden to step aside from the presidential race. Clooney believes that Biden cannot win the election. That’s why he withdrew his support from Biden’s election campaign.

As recently as last month, Clooney was a part of Biden’s fundraiser. Now more and more Democrats have expressed doubts about Biden’s ability for a new presidential term.

– This is not just my opinion. This is the opinion of every senator and congressman I have spoken with, Clooney wrote.

“On behalf of my two children, I am asking Joe Biden to step aside…”

Clooney’s surprising writing was not the only criticism of Biden on Wednesday. Biden, who is currently hosting the NATO summit in Washington, suddenly received blows from all sides.

Former Speaker of Congress, Democrat Nancy Pelosi hinted in an interviewthat Biden should reconsider his candidacy for the presidency.

Democratic Senator from Connecticut Richard Blumenthal again said he was worried about Biden’s chances of winning, and invited Donald Trump’s electoral victory as an “existential threat”.

Also the Democratic senator from Vermont Peter Welch expressed his doubts about Biden’s chances in the presidential race and thought it would be a steep uphill climb. He urged Biden and his team to analyze the situation coldly analytically.

Democratic congressman Pat Ryan went even further and called for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

– I would make a serious mistake if I said (Biden) is the best candidate to serve the party this fall. “For the good of the country, for my two children, I’m asking Joe Biden to step aside in the upcoming election and follow through on his promise to be a bridge to a new generation of leaders,” Ryan said.
