A man was arrested Wednesday morning after a replica handgun was found when officers responded to a disturbance on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham, says Chatham-Kent police.
Officers arrived at the residence just before 8 am and were informed a distracted woman was calling for help from a second-floor window and a man was in the residence with a firearm, police said.

Following negotiations, police said a man voluntarily left the residence and was peacefully taken into custody.
A black replica handgun was located and seized, police said.
Officers learned an argument escalated into a physical assault on a woman.
A 30-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault, police said. He was released with conditions and a March 25 short date.
