Depending on the generation, Liam Neeson is known to viewers for very different films. Some appreciate him as a character actor from Schindler’s List, others like him as a Jedi in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. The majority of action fans fondly remember 96 Hours and its famous “I do not know who they are“-Dialog. Which the star found extremely embarrassing at first.

Action star Liam Neeson is still annoyed by the most famous 96 Hours sentence today
Neeson revealed to Rolling Stone in February:
Whenever someone says something like, ‘I have very special abilities,’ I always think, ‘Shit, not again.’ When we were shooting the scene, I asked director Pierre Morel: ‘Please, can we cut this? That’s so cheesy. It’s been in so many films. […]’ But he was like, ‘Trust me, this works.’
The film’s success made the scene all the more awkward for him, as he admits in the interview. After all, the film was followed by two sequels and a series. Neeson will probably not be able to avoid meeting fans who are absolutely enthusiastic about the 96 Hours scene for many years to come.
At least in the action genre he is in good company. Clint Eastwood has probably been on his “make my day“Scene addressed, Sylvester Stallone or Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t faring much better. The theatrical actor in Neeson will keep grimacing.
