For the fourth part, one formed new production company called The H Collective, who wanted to buy the rights of the previous producers from Revolution Studios. For financial reasons, they teamed up with the Chinese ticketing company Weying, which provided money for the legal takeover.
Something seems quite obvious didn’t go smoothly to be, because in 2020 Weying filed a lawsuit against the business partner: one of the main points was the allegation that they had promised them control of 100% of the production rights, while in reality Vin Diesel retained half the shares as producer.
In addition, Weying apparently had to meet new demands from the actor for this deal. Since the original business idea and the result were quite different, Weying sued The H Collective (among others). breach of contract.
When and how can Vin Diesel’s action hit xXx 4 continue?
A finished film concept in the starting blocks – and then legal frippery intervenes: An annoying horror for all fans of the action series. Not much was known about the story of the fourth part, director DJ Caruso hinted at a history of political conspiracies as early as 2017 (via Cinema Blend):
