Action god Sylvester Stallone is filming the stunt inferno sequel

In recent years, Sylvester Stallone has regularly returned to his most famous action role: there are now 5 Rambo parts and several The Expendables sequels. His next project resurrects another, slightly lesser-known character from the depths of the Stallone vita. As the industry journal Deadline reports, Stallone plays his role as a mountain rescuer from Cliffhanger – only the strong survive again. It is the second attempt to continue the film after 2014. We answer the most important questions.

What was Cliffhanger about again?

In the first part from 1993, Sylvester Stallone embodied Gabe Walker. Considered the best man in the Rocky Mountain Rescue Service, he retired after a tragic accident – until a plane crashed in the mountains. During the rescue operation, however, Gabe encounters a group of hardened criminals led by Eric Qualen (John Lithgow). One of the most dangerous and costly stunts of all time was performed during the shoot, albeit without Stallone’s involvement.

What is known about the cliffhanger sequel?

Cliffhanger 2 could be as complex as its predecessor. The most important cornerstones of the project have already been determined: Stallone once again plays the lead role in the role of Gabe Walker, who has aged 30 years. Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen) is directing. And Mark Bianculli (Hunters) wrote the screenplay, although plot details are not yet known. Other roles besides Stallone are currently being cast. It is not known when Cliffhanger 2 will start – the year 2025 seems realistic.

What is Stallone’s next film?

The action star is set to star in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 soon. He also gives his final farewell as Barney Ross in the action ensemble hit The Expendables 4.
