According to Variety, Arnie said as a guest on The Graham Norton Show that he was given various trainers in the early stages of his Hollywood career in order to, among other things, lose his distinctive native dialect:
I had an English coach, an acting coach, a voice coach and an accent removal coach who has since passed away, but other than that I should have gotten my money back. The bottom line is that I worked on it.
In the interview, Schwarzenegger says that he above all the TH for English terms like “three thousand”, “three hundred”, “thirty-three” and “one-third” should be repeated constantly. The action star also talked about how no one at the time believed in his Hollywood breakthrough as long as he didn’t lose the Austrian dialect:
