In one of the film’s biggest scenes, the prison plane collides with the Sands Hotel, a Las Vegas landmark. As Cinema Review writes in a report, the old hotel and casino should be blown up anyway. However, the producers were able to persuade the owners to delay the detonation until the shooting. The building is actually exploded in the scene, which makes it even more impressive.
Con Air revolves around the ex-elite soldier Cameron Poe (Cage), who should finally come home after a prison sentence. But the transport plane will hijacked by his bloodthirsty fellow inmates. Poe is supposed to turn the situation around for the better and risks life and limb in the process.
