Acer has introduced a laptop concept with removable controllers at IFA 2024. It’s called Project DualPlay.
The company said the following about the product, whose commercialization date has not yet been announced: “Acer has introduced its gaming laptop concept, Project DualPlay, at the next@acer global press conference in Berlin. Embracing the latest gaming trends, this Predator concept adds a new dimension to the versatile and shared PC gaming experience in a single, powerful device. Pushing the boundaries of gaming on the go, Project DualPlay gives gamers more ways to enjoy their favorite AAA games. The cutting-edge design features a large touchpad that also functions as a built-in, detachable wireless controller. Gamers can easily remove the wireless controller from its electromagnetic lock by pressing and detaching the unlock button located above the keyboard with two fingers. This action also activates two high-quality 5-watt pop-up speakers that emerge from the sides of the laptop, allowing gamers to experience each scene as if they were actually there, inviting them to experience an immersive audio experience.

Focused on multiplayer gamers, Project DualPlay lets another player join in on the action. With adaptations ranging from first-person shooters to multiplayer online battle arenas, from sports to fighting games like Capcom Street Fighter 6, Project DualPlay takes gaming control and experience to new heights. Perfecting one-on-one combat in the next installment of the Street Fighter series, the detachable controller splits into two joysticks, instantly transforming the PC into a battle station.
