Acea, presented expression of interest for waste-to-energy in Rome

Acea placed 200 million euros in green bond reopening

(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Aceaa multi-utility listed on Euronext Milan, ha submitted their expression of interest for the assignment of the concession of the plant engineering pole relating to the design, authorization for the operation, construction and management of a waste-to-energy plant in Rome. In particular, the subsidiary Acea Ambiente is the leader of a temporary grouping of national and international companies, such as Hitachi Zosen Inova, Vianini Lavori and Suez.

Acea has always been at the service of the Capital, the city in which it was born and in which it already manages primary services, such as the water service and the distribution of electricity”.

The Municipality of Rome has announced that within the week, at the end of the administrative verification of the documentation presented, the Technical and economic evaluation commission of the project, which will include authoritative experts. The work of the Commission will last 60 days at the end of which an opinion will be expressed which will be the basis for the calling of the tender for the construction and assignment of the waste-to-energy plant.

The publication of the call for tenders is expected by August 1, theconstruction site opening by July 2024 andplant start-up by the summer of 2026.

“We are satisfied because proceed expeditiously according to the roadmap that we have set ourselves – he added – Together with the other recycling plants and the plan for the reduction of waste and the increase in differentiated collection, the waste-to-energy plant is decisive for achieving plant self-sufficiency, overcoming landfills, reducing emissions and improved collection”.
