ACEA Minister Piantedosi and CEO Palermo sign legality protocol

(Finance) – The Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and the managing director of Acea Fabrizio Palermo signed today at the Interior Ministry a National Framework Protocol for the protection of legality, with the aim of strengthening the common commitment against potential corruption phenomena and the risks of infiltration of the organized crime in corporate sectors of national strategic importance, including the management of hydroelectric and waste networks.

One of the aims of the agreement is to enhance the cooperation in matters of public safety and legalityalso in consideration of ACEA’s commitment to the construction of important infrastructural works in the coming years, such as the doubling of the Peschiera, the main aqueduct that supplies the capital, and other projects in implementation of the national recovery and resilience plan.

The protocollasting three years, will affect i territories in which they operate group company. To contribute to the constant monitoring of their implementation, a control room which will meet twice a year

Thanks to the agreement, they will be introduced innovative preventive measures including: new digital monitoring systems for construction sites of large works, control of the external context in which the works are carried out and prevention activities relating to the correctness of the waste disposal process.

“The framework protocol signed today with ACEA assumes particular importance because it marks the start of a strategic partnership to guarantee security and legality in key corporate sectors for the national economy”, commented the Minister Piantedosi., adding “it is a concrete and clearly visible sign of a strong common commitment, which will be followed by the signing of protocols between the prefectures and the companies of the Group”.

“The protocol signed today places the Group at the forefront on issues of legality and the prevention of infiltration by organized crime”, he commented the CEO Palermoexplaining that ACEA “to further strengthen the focus on these issues, has appointed Giovanni Salvi, former Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, as a consultant for legality and the fight against criminal infiltration”.

detailed, in which significant innovations will be introduced for the monitoring of risk activities, such as subcontracting or the management of excavation materials, also through computerized and unchangeable controls”, he underlined Save.
