Accused of torture Syria boycotts hearings before the International Court

Syria boycotted, this Tuesday, October 10, the hearings scheduled before the International Court of Justice in The Hague. Damascus is accused of violating the Torture Convention. The complaint was filed by Canada and the Netherlands at the beginning of June before this Court responsible for settling disputes between States. The first stage of this case was pleaded this Tuesday in The Hague. The Syrian boycott did not prevent lawyers from Canada and the Netherlands from asking judges to order emergency measures, while waiting to rule on the merits of the case.
