A man in his 40s is charged in Vänersborg district court on suspicion of aggravated extortion, reports P4 West.
According to the suspicions, he has pressured several people to transfer a total of eight million kroner to him. In order to get his way, he is said to have threatened criminal gangs and to spread sensitive information about the people.
In connection with the case, several other people are also charged with money laundering and serious fraud, among other things.
According to the indictment, the crime has been going on for several years.
