Accountants, full support from the territorial orders for the reform of the profession

Accountants full support from the territorial orders for the reform

(Finance) – One hundred and eleven Orders present on one hundred and thirty-two and over thirty interventions. They are the numbers ofAssembly of the Presidents of the Orders territorial meetings of accountants, held today in Rome. The meeting, during which the budget of the National Council for 2025 was also examined, was aopportunity for an internal comparison within the categorya few weeks after the approval of the reform text of the professional system which, after the approval of the national governance, will now have to reach Parliament.

In his introductory speech, the national president Elbano de Nuccioin addition to listing the results achieved so far by its Council and vindicating the choices made with the reform of the system, launched an appeal for the unity of the category.

From the vast majority of presidents’ interventions, full support for the action of the National Council and the reform of the professional system emerged. The only critical voices are those of the presidents of Rome and Milan, Giovanni Calì and Marcella Caradonna: the first advanced criticisms of some technical aspects of the reform text, the second argued that the time made available for an analysis of the innovations introduced was too short.

“This assembly – stated de Nuccio on the sidelines of the assembly – has provided us with a great example of democratic participation. We spoke frankly, discussing the method and contents of our action, with an extremely significant number of Orders present and interventions, demonstrating a strong desire to analyze and dissect together aspects and problems that are crucial for the future of our profession”.

“The fact that the vast majority of interventions showed strong support for our action and an equally strong invitation to proceed on the path undertaken so far is an incentive for us to do more and better”, he added. “We are obviously always open to criticism and constructive observations – he concluded – but I am convinced that, as we are already doing, the National Council has the duty to take responsibility for important and courageous choices and to continue with the task of further strengthening the role of the category, respecting the electoral program on the basis of which the presidents of the Orders gathered today in Rome voted for us. This is the message we received today and which we are collecting. For this reason, I reiterate that this is not the time for division and actions that deliberately aim to damage the image of the category, causing harm to all one hundred and twenty thousand of our colleagues.”
