According to this fashion expert these outdated sneakers will be

Fashion experts live in the future. While ordinary people struggle to know what outfit to choose when they wake up in the morning, professionals are already thinking about what fashionistas will wear in 2025. Maria Torazzina, buyer for the sports multi-brand Courir, has agreed to reveal to us the sneaker models that will be all the rage in 2025.

There Gazelle and the Samba, It’s almost finished ! Maria Torazzina, buyer at Courir, spotted a few models that could well compete with the best-sellers of the Adidas brand in 2025. Yes yes, you read correctly, in 2025. Because the French company, which sells sneakers and sportstyle products in the four corners of France, is currently in the process of ordering its stocks for the month of January 2025. The opportunity, for the Journal des Femmes, to get a little ahead of the trends.

Three major inspirations

“These are mainly trends that we already see on TikTok,” warns Maria Torazzina. “For the moment, they have not yet been marketed, so they should last for a few seasons”. Unsurprisingly, therefore, it is the Terrace trend which will reign over 2025. Understand: an aesthetic close to that favored by football fans in the 70’s, nicknamed in homage to the high stand from which the English ultras followed the matches. In addition to Brazil jerseys, fashionistas want authentic sneakers, which brands have dusted off from their archives: XXL tongues, technical materials like mesh… “The leader on the trend is Adidas”says Maria Torazzina.

The other essential inspiration will be running. After a big focus on the 2000s, driven by 530 from New Balance, it’s the 70’s that will be in the spotlight. The reference model? THE SL 72 from Adidas, a pair created to equip athletes during the Munich Olympic Games. Distinctive signs: its lightness, its extra flat sole and its retro design which until recently relegated this sneaker to the category of out-of-fashion clothing. A second model stands out, the cult Cortes by Nike, also launched for the 1972 Olympics.

Last big gimmick to emerge: the skater-girl look. On the feet of fashionistas, this translates into XXL sneakers, like the Curb of Lanvin, the Knu Skool of Vans or the Area by Axel Arigato. At Courir, it is once again Adidas which dominates the game, notably with its Campus 2000, an oversized version of one of its most popular sneakers. “One of the big new features is the variations around the laces: braided, multi-colored, super wide…”

A contrasting palette

If for several seasons, pastel shades have ruled the roost, 2025 will be the year of flashy colors. Assumed shades like striking pink, bright yellow or Klein blue. The exact opposite, sneakers “triple black” are required. Tone-on-tone sole, upper and logo for a very sharp unisex look. In terms of materials, fashionistas will demand mesh and suede exclusively. To discover these new trends without further delay, head to second-hand clothes and second-hand apps like Vinted, Le Bon Coin or Vestiaire Collective. The best places to find 70’s-inspired sneakers before everyone else and at low prices.
