One of the best horror series of recent years is still far too little known in this country. We’re talking about Evil, which for once isn’t about zombies or vampires. Instead, the series continues demonic horror and devilishly good entertainment. The already 3rd season of Evil has just started on Paramount+ *.
What is the horror series Evil about?
At the center of the horror series is a team of investigators consisting of the priest David Acosta (Mike Colter), the court psychologist Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) and the technology expert Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi). On behalf of the Catholic Church, they investigate supernatural phenomena, possible demon possession and much more.

The main characters of Evil
Similar to the cult series The X Files – The FBI’s Uncanny Cases, there is a conflict between in each case Science and (super)belief in focus. Is something paranormal or demonic actually happening here? Or is there a logical and scientific explanation? The fact that the series often remains ambivalent in its resolutions makes it all the more exciting.
On the horror front, the series delivers episode after episode with plenty of scary highlights. It doesn’t matter whether it’s demonic entities, horror elevators or cursed apps: Evil keeps spooking with new weird ideas. The “Case of the Week” concept meets season-spanning mysteries surrounding demonic conspiracies and enigmatic Vatican secret services.
Evil is not only scary, but also damn entertaining. Showrunners Michelle and Robert King (The Good Fight) create a special and idiosyncratic way of macabre and often surreal humor – if, for example, the manipulative villain Dr. Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson) suddenly faces the devil as a horned therapist.
Evil season 3 streaming: Horror memes and demon nightmares
The third season of Evil is running in Germany since April 6, 2023 at Paramount+. At the start there was a double episode. The other eight episodes of the season are made available for streaming on a weekly basis on Thursdays.

Also in Season 3 Evil keeps the consistently high level. Fans can once again look forward to more disturbing horror cases, polished dialogue and fantastic characters. The new episodes spooky with, among other things, a Slender Man-like meme, a cursed highway, a terrorizing video app and lots of nightmare demons.
A special highlight this time the no-nonsense nun and scene worker Sister Andrea (Andrea Martin). Not only does she serve as David’s mentor, she also develops into a formidable antagonist to the scheming Leland Townsend. And yes, she also fights a sex demon.
