Batgirl was wiped out between several factors in the DC chaos of 2022. Rumor has it that the film was poorly received at test screenings, In addition, it no longer fit with Warner’s changed streaming strategy.

Apparently it was cheaper for the production studio to collect a tax refund for the mothballed film, than to publish it. According to their own statements, Arbi and Fallah still couldn’t say no to a new DC project.
